Signs or indications of nephrotic syndrome are as follows:

  • Tiredness

  • Loss of appetite

  • Weight gain

  • Swollen legs, feet, ankles, and sometimes face also.

  • Foamy urine

Complications of nephrotic syndrome

When someone is suffering from nephrotic syndrome, an important protein which is called albumin leaks into the urine instead of getting filtered by the kidneys as it should. Albumin helps the human body get rid of extra fluid. When there's not enough albumin in the blood, liquid can build up in the body, causing swelling in your legs, feet, ankles, and sometimes even face. You can also have other problems like blood clotting and infections.

With nephrotic syndrome, cholesterol also builds up in the blood. When you have too much cholesterol in your blood, clumps form inside your veins and arteries, which can be a cause of a heart attack or a stroke.

Nephrotic syndrome can also cause many other diseases such as:

  • Anemia

  • Heart diseases

  • High blood pressure

  • AKD (Acute kidney disease)

  • Kidney failure

How is Nephrotic Syndrome Treated?

At present time there is no cure for nephrotic syndrome according to modern medicines, but still, the doctor might ask you to take certain medicines to treat these symptoms. So that it can prevent kidneys from getting worse.

  1. Medicine to control cholesterol and blood pressure can help prevent you from having a heart attack.

  2. Medicine to help the body flush out extra water can help control the blood pressure and can reduce swelling.

Palash: It has the capability to fight infections of the urinary system.

Rakta Chandana: It is an anti-infective herb that acts as a cooling agent for the urinary tract.

Gokshuradi guggul: This herb is a combination of other special herbs that improve the function of the kidney over a period of time.
